In Sumerian mythology, Ereshkigal serves as the Goddess of the Underworld. She commands a spear-like cage that she uses to stab foes, imprison souls, and summon lightning, establishing her as a terrifying sovereign of the dead. Having managed the underworld since her birth, she vanished alongside the Age of Gods, remaining unaware of the world above or the concept of freedom.
