Summary
As the eldest daughter of the Sugimoto family, Shinako presents herself as a straightforward and blunt individual who is surprisingly perceptive and easy-going. She tends to find conflict dull and unnecessary, preferring to avoid it, and is rarely caught off guard by the behavior of others. Instead, she often appears to enjoy finding amusement at the expense of those around her. An alumna of Fujigaya Girls' Academy, Shinako was quite well-known during her high school years. Flashbacks featured throughout the series reveal that her personality has remained largely unchanged since her teenage days. She is notably indifferent to sexual orientation, openly asking Fumi about her specific preferences upon their first meeting. While she claims to have had many girlfriends in her youth, this may stem more from boredom than genuine attraction to women. Her combination of relentless flirting and aloofness often leads those she dates to perceive her as somewhat cruel.
