Summary
Tomoko Kuroki is the main character of Watamote. She struggles with social interaction, yet she desperately desires friends and a romantic partner. Her shyness, social anxiety, and lack of communication experience beyond her family life hinder her efforts to connect with others. She views high school as a chance to reinvent herself and make new friends, attempting to attract the attention of her classmates. However, her plans rarely succeed because she often procrastinates and fails to follow through on her intentions.
