Summary
Iriya serves as a practitioner of the Shingyoto-Ryū sword school, which is located in the Kaga mountains. Although the institution was originally slated to merge with the Itto-Ryū, the government intervened with an order to assassinate Anotsu Kagehisa during the consolidation meeting. Iriya harbors deep romantic feelings for Hisoka, who is the granddaughter of the school’s headmaster, Kensui. Following the annihilation of the school and the subsequent deaths of both Hisoka and Kensui, the surviving students unite to track down and kill Kagehisa. He makes his debut appearance during Secrets Part I and meets his end at the hands of Kagehisa in Last Blood Part 4/5.
