Summary
Poppo is the first friend Jinta reconnects with after becoming a hikikomori. As a child, he was uncontrollably energetic, friendly, and fiercely loyal to Jinta, recognizing him as the leader of their group. These traits remain unchanged in the present day. Jinta reunited with him while searching for Menma, discovering that Poppo was living in their old clubhouse. Poppo explains that he works part-time jobs to save money for trips around the world, which is why he has not attended school in several years. He appears to have questionable interests, as Jinta found several pornographic magazines upon entering the clubhouse. Poppo also seems obsessed with foreign girls, particularly Vietnamese women, and generally possesses a lewd personality.
