Summary
Sophie Sawallisch is a veteran of the Great War who serves as the supreme commander of the Flame Haze Army. Dressed in nun attire, she retains the habit of making the sign of the cross despite no longer being affiliated with the clergy. Possessing a kind heart, she acts as a mother figure to her fellow Flame Haze, earning her the well-known nickname Mother Courage. Her strategic brilliance during the war led to her appointment as the army's leader. She encountered the Flame Haze from the Nietono no Shana in Eastern Europe, where she instructed the young girl on proper Flame Haze conduct and etiquette, specifically after observing the girl walking around unclothed in a room.
