Summary

Chachamaru Karakuri is student number ten in the class and a two-year-old robot created by Satomi Hakase. Her primary purpose is to serve Evangeline and protect her during periods when the spell binding her weakens her power. Initially lacking real emotions, she begins to develop feelings for Negi after spending time with him. These emotions contradict her original programming, which excites Hakase. Chachamaru shows signs of her growing consciousness, such as embarrassment when her crush is mentioned, internal gears spinning faster during moments of excitement, and leaking laser fluid from her eyes when upset. She spends her free time helping people and rescuing stray animals. She harbors a deep fear that she is merely a soulless doll, but this is disproven during the Governor's ball in the Magic world. There, she forms a Pactio with Negi in his Nagi form. The contract has a cat theme and confirms that she possesses a true soul, as Pactio contracts can only be formed between individuals with genuine souls. Chachamaru’s body is powered by an internal spring combined with magic and must be wound with a key by someone possessing magical energy. The winding process is described as pleasurable, though excessive magic can make the sensation uncomfortable. She is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and is equipped with rocket fists, laser emitters, and magic-powered thrusters that allow her to fly for fifteen minutes. She also carries a tool for undoing binding circles. Her body has undergone several upgrades, culminating in a new form that appears completely human, unlike her original model with easily detectable parts. She also possesses a chibi body designed for disguise. The final upgrade enables her to transform her arms into swords and guns.
