Born in Japan to a Korean mother, Kaku is known by the Korean name Kwak Yeoung-sa. He attends Zoushigaya Junior High and stands among the Under Fourteen (U-14) trio of elites alongside Yūto and Kazuma. Kaku views his cousin Lee Yun-gyong, a number 10 midfielder for the Seoul Senbatsu team, as his primary rival and seeks his recognition.
