Summary
Senji was the first Deadman Ganta encountered in the prison, emerging in Sector G after Crow destroyed the Necro Macro security robot pursuing Ganta, Shiro, and Yoh. Following a brief skirmish and an interruption by Shiro, Senji was subdued by Deadman security. The following day, he and Ganta were scheduled to compete in the Carnival Corpse. Although Senji possessed significant experience and skill with his Branch ability, Ganta won by deceiving him. As punishment for his defeat, Senji had his right eye removed for research purposes. He returned shortly before Ganta’s next match, now wearing an eyepatch, and offered to help Ganta analyze his opponent’s techniques as well as understand his own capabilities. This shift in his attitude toward Ganta stemmed from a newfound respect for Ganta’s strength; Senji declared that because Ganta had beaten him, he was forbidden from losing again until they could have a rematch. Despite his love for violence and his catchphrase "Dead Center," Senji maintained a sense of honor and respected strength and determination. Ironically, he became flustered and embarrassed by immodest behavior from women. Upon noticing Shiro’s form-fitting body tights, his face turned red, and he offered her his coat, urging her to cover up quickly. His Branch of Sin, known as Crow Claw, manifests as two large scythe-like blades made of blood that extend from long cuts on his forearms. He creates these wounds using bladed rings worn on his thumbs. While the blades typically measure two to three feet in length, Senji can significantly extend them to attack from a distance. He is also credited with naming Ganta’s Branch of Sin, the Ganta Gun, and possesses a supersonic attack called Invisible Black. Before his imprisonment in DW, Senji worked as a policeman, and it is hinted that he was responsible for killing four of his friends.
