Summary
Edda Rossi is depicted as a domineering and self-centered woman who serves as the wife of Marchelo, the man who purchased Romeo, and the mother of Anzelmo. She also acts as the foster mother to Angeletta. Initially harboring a deep hatred for Romeo, she and her son subjected him to significant mistreatment. Her animosity was so intense that she sought to have him imprisoned, even after Angeletta confessed to both her and Marchelo that Anzelmo was the actual thief of their money. However, her perspective shifts in the final episode when Romeo departs from Milan after completing his labor contract. Witnessing his departure, Edda breaks down in tears, finally recognizing the substantial assistance Romeo had provided to the Rossi household.
