Juugo
Summary
Born on October 1, Juugo is a Libra with AB blood type. During Part II of the series, he is an 18-to-19-year-old male standing 202.1 cm tall and weighing 75.8 kg. He serves as the largest member of Sasuke Uchiha’s reorganized team, which has transitioned from Snake to Hawk. Juugo was previously detained at Orochimaru’s North Base, the facility where much of the Sannin’s secret research took place. His team members view him with caution; Suigetsu harbors a strong dislike for him, complaining that retrieving Zabuza Momochi’s sword was necessary due to Juugo’s presence. Additionally, Karin identifies Juugo as mentally unstable, noting that he often mutters to himself about his next victim, choosing targets based on gender. Juugo is the key to Orochimaru’s development of cursed seals. Seeking a cure for his uncontrollable "impulses," Juugo approached Orochimaru in the past. His rage causes spontaneous transformations into a berserk demon, similar to the effects of a cursed seal. Orochimaru discovered that enzymes in Juugo’s blood were responsible for this phenomenon. By extracting these enzymes, the Sannin created controlled versions of the transformation for other subjects. Although Juugo initially appears bloodthirsty, Karin explains this is merely the behavior of someone enraged; Juugo himself has no desire to kill. His rage attacks are random, leading him to remain confined voluntarily. He joins Sasuke because he believes Sasuke is the only one capable of stopping him from killing while enraged. Previously, Kimimaro had kept Juugo in check, and the two grew close. After learning that Kimimaro sacrificed his life to deliver Sasuke to Orochimaru, Juugo believes Kimimaro’s spirit lives on within Sasuke. A bracket-shaped symbol is visible on Juugo’s left palm, though its presence on his right hand or its significance remains unknown. His brief confrontation with Sasuke and Suigetsu demonstrated his unique ability to control his transformation, unlike the static effects of a standard cursed seal. During the fight, he altered his left arm into a piston-like ram to boost his punching power and then reshaped it into a massive blade to combat Suigetsu. He can also perform partial transformations, activating a level two form on only one portion of his body without fully changing. When discussing Sasuke’s team with the Akatsuki, the group’s leader refers to Juugo as Juugo of the Scales, with "scales" potentially referring to a determinant of balance, though it is unclear if this is a title or location. Later, during a mission into the forest, Juugo initiates his search by activating his special enzyme and asking a bird for information.
