Summary
Mibu Kyou, universally recognized by the moniker Demon Eyes Kyou, is a legendary figure infamous for his crimson, demon-like gaze. He earned the title "Thousand Slayer" after slaughtering more than a thousand samurai during the Battle of Sekigahara, only to be defeated by a youth named Mibu Kyoshiro. Following this loss, Kyou’s consciousness merged with Kyoshiro’s, while his physical form was concealed deep within the Aokigahara forest. Characterized by extreme sadism and a delight in slaughter, his bloodlust gradually diminished over time, though he continued to kill without mercy until periods of intense training with Muramasa helped fully pacify him. Upon meeting Yuya, Kyou exhibited a protective instinct toward her, albeit expressed through childish taunts like calling her "dog face" and "ugly," a sentiment Kyoshiro later confirmed was genuine affection. His primary weapon is Tenro, one of the Four Great Demon Blades, forged by Muramasa to be nearly unbreakable. He wields the Mumyou Jinpuu Ryuu Satsujin Ken, the most powerful sword school within the Mibu Clan, which was taught to him by Muramasa. This style surpasses other techniques in power, incorporating standard fencing and defense alongside attacks capable of cutting air and generating illusions. He eventually mastered a higher form of this art that harnesses the Four Symbols—Genbu, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Suzaku—as well as Kouryuu, manifesting diverse powers based on these creatures.
