Yuuki, Yori
Summary
Yori is a fifteen-year-old and the twin brother of Iku. Although he appears intelligent and aloof, he possesses a tender side reserved primarily for his sister. He has harbored romantic feelings for Iku since their childhood, eventually entering into a relationship with her despite being haunted by the moral implications of their incestuous bond. The narrative reveals midway through the series that Yori is actually Iku’s half-brother; he is the son of their father’s best friend, who had an affair with Yori’s mother on her wedding day. When their parents discover the couple’s relationship, they flee together and attempt to live as a normal pair until they visit a church. Seeking to protect Iku from the taboo, Yori abruptly ends the relationship by leaving her without explanation, believing that distance will diminish their emotions. A decade later, the two reunite, and Yori confesses that his love for Iku remains unchanged.
