Summary
Rea is a first-year student at Sanka Girls' High School who, at fifteen or sixteen years old and standing 161 cm tall, leads a highly sheltered existence under the strict control of her father. Seeking liberation from these oppressive chains, she steals a zombie potion brewed by Chihiro and consumes it in a failed suicide attempt. Her death occurs shortly after when she accidentally falls off a cliff, causing her to resurrect as a zombie. She subsequently moves in with Chihiro, hoping to experience the freedom she has been denied. Despite her initial intentions to use Rea merely as a research subject, Darin treats her with kindness, and she maintains friendly relations with everyone at the shrine. Her social interactions are marked by her habit of addressing others with the -Chan suffix, a practice that causes Mero significant discomfort since she uses the same term for Mero as Mero’s mother does. Similarly, Darin is displeased by being called Darin-Chan. Rea harbors affection for Chihiro but worries that she is interfering with his relationship with Ranko. Additionally, she possesses the ability to understand Bābu and exhibits unusual physical strength, a trait attributed to her body no longer being restrained by her brain following her death.
