Stanley, Ethan
Summary
Ethan Stanley, also known as Pollux, is a nineteen-year-old Dou and a member of the Satsujin Ken within Yomi. He is the younger twin brother of Rachel and serves as the disciple of Sehrul Rahman. Physically, Ethan is an exceptionally tall and muscular young man with short, light blond hair. His attire varies depending on the context; he typically wears a tight t-shirt and dark pants, or a school uniform to blend in at Kenichi’s academy. However, during combat, he often removes his shirt to wear a Kalaripayattu loincloth, which enhances his mobility. His fighting style is rooted in Kalarippayattu, and his Yomi Symbol is Void. Ethan maintains a stoic demeanor and remains fiercely loyal to his sister, Rachel, despite her constant orders and physical abuse. He demonstrates remarkable resilience and deep affection for her, once punching a client who attempted to purchase her from Yami. Although Rachel rarely reciprocates his care, Ethan loves her unconditionally and was devastated by his loss to Kenichi, fearing it would lead to her death. He is described by Kenichi as the most honest individual among the Yomi transfer students. Unlike his sister, who employs flashy techniques, Ethan utilizes conservative attacks. He avoids unnecessary conflict, defends his classmates, and seeks peaceful resolutions, such as suggesting that Kenichi die as a martial artist to solve their dispute. In battle, Ethan shifts from a quiet giant to a raging berserker, usually fighting at full power but adapting by using different stances and pressure points against resilient foes. Despite belonging to the Satsujin Ken, he exhibits traits more suited to the Katsujin Ken, often choosing to guard rather than attack and taking on missions to protect his sister. He shows little offense toward others, remaining unbothered by minor irritations, such as girls tying up his hair. It is revealed that his master, Sehrul Rahman, took him on trips to India, where Ethan formed friendships. He claims these bonds were merely an act, noting that he only said goodbyes to them as part of that performance.
