Aion

Summary

Known by the alias "The Sinner," Aion is a demon of unknown age who appears to be twenty years old. Originally from Pandaemonium, he is a cunning, charismatic, and thoughtful figure driven by an intense ambition. Disillusioned by the oppressive nature of Pandaemonium, the demon society, he betrayed his kind to pursue his dream of freedom. In a radical act of rebellion, he killed the demon queen, the mother of all demons, and subsequently escaped to Earth alongside other demons who shared his desire for liberty. As a natural leader, Aion commands deep respect, with followers willing to die for him. His relationship with Chrno was once built on trust, with Aion relying heavily on Chrno’s combat abilities. However, ideological differences led Chrno to leave Aion’s side and join Magdalene. This betrayal caused Aion profound pain, though he maintains a complex dynamic with his former ally, seeming to enjoy inflicting suffering on Chrno while remaining open to accepting him back as an ally if he chooses to join Aion’s cause again. Aion genuinely cares for his followers and desires their well-being, yet he is prepared to sacrifice them if it aids his ultimate objective: the total destruction of Pandaemonium and the "rebirth" of the world. Despite his intelligence and resourcefulness, Aion harbors a fatal weakness in the form of an obsessive hatred and fear of Pandaemonium, which clouds his judgment. He views humans merely as tools and holds little concern for humanity’s future. Beneath his reputation as a hopelessly cruel villain lies a surprisingly noble individual whose tragic past has twisted him into someone obsessed with his dream, indifferent to the means or consequences. Interestingly, it is suggested that Aion holds hidden feelings for the demon queen that run far deeper than commonly suspected.
