Summary
Lan Qiren serves as an elder of the Gusu Lan Sect, a position from which he is renowned for cultivating exceptional talent even in students who initially appear hopeless. He is the uncle of Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji. Witnessing his brother, Qingheng-jun, succumb to self-destruction due to romantic entanglements, Lan Qiren assumed guardianship of his nephews. He enforced rigorous training and discipline to ensure they would not repeat their father’s mistakes, a goal that ultimately failed when Lan Wangji eloped with Wei Wuxian. Consequently, Lan Qiren has gained a notorious reputation as a pedantic, stubborn, and strict educator.
