Summary
Magatsuhi is the youkai responsible for Midoriko’s death, and her spirit remains trapped within the jewel, locked in an endless struggle against him. Much like Naraku, Magatsuhi originated from a corrupt human consumed by youkai due to his obsession with a priestess. However, while Naraku maintains a humanoid appearance, Magatsuhi’s true form is far more grotesque and monstrous. He first appears in manga chapter 89 as the mummified corpse of an unnamed, gigantic demon. Later, his name is revealed to be Magatsuhi, and he manages to temporarily escape the jewel to construct a humanoid body using spare parts from Naraku. This makeshift form is ultimately destroyed by Sesshomaru and InuYasha.
