Summary
Eudial, known as Eugeal in the English dub, serves as the primary and likely leading member of the Witches 5, making her debut by attacking the Sailor Senshi in episode 103. Her name is derived from the mineral eudialyte. In the anime adaptation, she appears to be the eldest of the group, earning the resentment of her peers, particularly Mimete, due to Professor Tomoe’s apparent favoritism toward her. A brilliant inventor, Eudial excels at constructing and jury-rigging weaponry and computer technology using mundane household items; for instance, her Fire Buster is assembled from a blender and a vacuum cleaner hose. Her technological expertise allows her to modify computers to track potential Talisman holders, stealing their pure hearts with a specialized gun and employing Daimon to complete the process. While the other members address her as Chief, she maintains a generally even-tempered and level-headed demeanor, with the notable exception of her driving skills. Frequently endangering lives by nearly running them over, her car often emerges from underground tunnels in illogical locations. She wields a deadly shoulder-mounted flamethrower called the Fire Buster, which is later upgraded to the Fire Buster II, and subsequently booby-traps the under-construction Marine Cathedral. Although she successfully acquires two Talismans, they are taken by Sailor Pluto. Enraged, Eudial attempts to escape in her car, only to discover that Mimete has sabotaged the vehicle by removing the brakes and filling the engine with snails. In the dubbed version, these are described as acid snails that dissolve the brakes, though one is shown resting on her exposed skin without causing harm. The car crashes over a highway into the sea below, resulting in her instant death. In the manga, she operates under the alias Yuko Arimura, leading the Good Etiquette club within the Philosophy division of Infinity Academy at Level 78. During a student retreat at Mount M, she attempts to remove the Hostes during orientation but is confronted by Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter. When Sailor Mars uses her Mars Snake Fire attack, it transforms Eudial into a Gorgon-like monster with a black star on its forehead, and she is ultimately killed by Sailor Moon. Although never utilized in the manga narrative, her strongest attack is identified as Fire Buster in the Materials Collection.
