Summary
Larry McEnroe serves as both an FBI agent and a member of the Special Provisional Kitakyushu (SPK) task force. He makes his debut during the Near-Mello arc when he travels to the Japanese National Police Agency headquarters to demand the handover of the Death Note to the United States government for safekeeping by the SPK. Soichiro Yagami, the Deputy Director of the NPA, initially suspects the FBI of being complicit in the kidnapping of NPA Head Kanichi Takimura. However, McEnroe convinces him of their innocence, leading to a temporary alliance to rescue Takimura. Following Takimura’s death and Mello’s abduction of Yagami’s daughter Sayu, Soichiro is forced to travel to America and surrender the Death Note to the Mafia. After the transaction, McEnroe retrieves the Yagami family via helicopter but transports them to a facility in Los Angeles where Near interrogates them regarding the identity of their captors. According to the guidebook Death Note: How to Read 13, McEnroe survived the massacre of the SPK agents orchestrated with the Death Note, as detailed in Chapter 66 titled "Death," though he does not appear again in the manga.
