Aiza, Takeshi
Summary
Takeshi is defined by his honest and straightforward nature, particularly regarding his initial rivalry and animosity toward Kousei Arima. This hatred is eventually revealed to stem from deep admiration, as he viewed Kousei as a hero and a role model. His respect for Kousei is so intense that he openly rebukes him when the pianist fails to meet his high expectations. Recognized as one of the finest pianists of his generation, Takeshi has won the majority of recent piano competitions in Japan and has been invited to compete in Europe. Before the main events, he and Emi Igawa were seen complaining about Kousei’s emotionless playing after losing to him, with onlookers noting that the two were far superior to the rest of the field, making Kousei’s victory seem even more invincible. Throughout the story, Takeshi’s dedication is highlighted by his constant practice driven by his desire to surpass his idol.
