Summary
Chew, known as Choo in the English adaptation, is an Archerfish-man and an officer within Arlong’s crew. In the Japanese version, he habitually appends the kissing noise "chu" to the end of every sentence, while the 4kids dub has him ending statements with "smek." Although he is considered one of the crew’s more composed members, he is also potentially the most violent, evidenced by his willingness to shoot a Marine Captain before the officer can finish speaking. His primary combat ability involves spitting water from his mouth with the force and precision of a bullet. During his confrontation with Usopp, Chew is initially perceived as the stronger opponent. However, Usopp manages to defeat him by employing hit-and-run tactics, setting the Archerfish-man on fire, and finally knocking him unconscious by repeatedly striking him on the head with the "Usopp-Hammer."
