Summary
Masaru Katou is a seventeen-year-old standing at an imposing 192 cm. He possesses a kind-hearted nature, characterized by a strong desire to help others and a general care for those around him. Following the death of his parents, he assumed responsibility for his younger brother, becoming fiercely protective of him. Although Katou naturally assumes a leadership role due to his strong authority, his inability to harm others significantly hinders his performance in the game of Gantz. He was previously a childhood friend of Kei Kurono, and the two reunited on the day of their deaths. This encounter occurred while Katou was attempting to rescue a drunk individual from the train tracks, with Kurono reluctantly stepping in to assist him.
