Faust VIII, Johann
Summary
Faust VIII is a descendant of the original Faustus, an individual who once struck a pact with the devil. In the world of Shaman King, he began as an isolated boy whose sole companion was a girl named Eliza. When Eliza contracted a fatal illness for which no cure existed, Faust dedicated his entire life to finding a remedy. He eventually succeeded, becoming a doctor who saved her life and later married her. The couple resided in their clinic in Germany until a burglar broke in one night and shot Eliza to death. Devastated by the loss, Faust turned to the black arts and necromancy practiced by his ancestor. He now competes in the Shaman Fight tournament with the ultimate goal of becoming the Shaman King so that he may resurrect Eliza. His spirit is Eliza herself, and he utilizes her skeleton as his medium, which is perpetually bound to his arm by a chain.
