ufotable Unveils Dual Key Visuals for Witch on the Holy Night Film

Animation powerhouse ufotable just turned up the heat on its next big TYPE-MOON collaboration. At FGO Fes. 2026, the studio and publisher jointly unveiled a pair of new key visuals for the theatrical anime of Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru): a special illustration by original character designer Hirokazu Koyama, and a second key visual drawn by ufotable itself.
The film adapts Kinoko Nasu’s landmark visual novel and is locked for a November 20, 2026 Japan theatrical opening. Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa, and Yusuke Kobayashi return as Aoko Aozaki, Alice Kuonji, and Soujuurou Shizuki—the same trio that defined the game. Director and full production-staff credits remain under wraps, keeping the spotlight squarely on ufotable’s craft ahead of opening day.
Advance movie tickets featuring the new ufotable key visual go on sale at theaters nationwide from August 28, bundled with a limited “Apprentice Magician Reader” booklet that includes comments from Nasu, Koyama, and character concept designer Takashi Takeuchi, plus a brief history of the TYPE-MOON × ufotable partnership that previously delivered Kara no Kyoukai and the Fate/stay night Heaven’s Feel films.
With Demon Slayer still defining ufotable’s global profile, this double-visual drop is a clear signal that the studio is treating Witch on the Holy Night as a prestige theatrical event—not a side project. Full trailers and staff announcements should land as the November countdown tightens.
