Trigger's AX 2026 Panel Finally Dates Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 for Fall 2027

Anime Expo 2026's Saturday programming delivered one of its most satisfying slow burns when Studio Trigger took the stage for its industry panel. With the Los Angeles Convention Center still buzzing from a record-breaking weekend of premieres and merch lines, the studio leaned into anticipation rather than spectacle — and fans ate it up anyway.

Series director Yoshihiro Miyajima confirmed that Delicious in Dungeon will return in October 2027, exclusively on Netflix. No new footage screened in the room, but Miyajima unveiled refreshed artwork of Falin redesigned to align more closely with Ryoko Kui's manga, signaling a deliberate visual reset as the adaptation pushes deeper into the source material. Netflix echoed the announcement on social media moments later, turning the panel into a two-front celebration for attendees and viewers at home.

Miyajima used the session to outline what season two will emphasize: expanded backstory for fan favorites Izutsumi and Mithrun. The new cour opens with the manga's "First Floor Interlude" arc, picking up immediately after season one's Sixth Floor storyline. That places Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi, and Izutsumi on the path toward the winged lion while Kabru, Shuro, and Namari prepare their own descent — a convergence complicated by the arrival of the Canaries, west-side elves tasked with containing dungeons that spiral out of control.

For convention-goers who braved the weekend's notorious hall congestion, the Trigger panel offered a rare blend of concrete news and narrative tease without leaning on a sizzle reel. The crowd's appetite was unmistakable — even a date more than a year out felt like a full meal after years of silence since season one's acclaimed 2024 run.

With fifteen months until the premiere, the panel essentially issued a homework assignment: rewatch season one, catch up on Kui's manga through chapter 53, and wait for the first trailer. At Anime Expo, that kind of patience rarely feels like a punishment.
