Rie Kugimiya Joins MAO's Second Cour in Star Cast Reveal

The TV anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi's MAO dropped its second key visual and expanded voice cast for the second cour, which begins July 4 on NHK General.
Rie Kugimiya voices Natsuno, an earth-wielding onmyōji and former senior disciple to the lead exorcist. Katsuyuki Konishi plays Daigo in a matching role, while Takuya Satō portrays Hakubi, the metal specialist tied to Mao's past. Tasuku Kaito and Shino Shimoji join as Soma Kagami and Kagari Hosho from the influential Kagami and Hosho families, bringing new layers of curses, rivalries, and family intrigue.
The announcement also unveiled the clean opening sequence for the cour's theme "Bokura ga Uwagaki suru Sekai" by 20th Century. Sunrise handles production on the unbroken two-cour run, which already stars Yuki Kaji as the cursed Mao and Natsumi Kawaida as present-day Nanoka Kiba pulled into the Taisho era's dangers.
With Takahashi's signature mix of dark fantasy, mystery, and emotional stakes, the fresh voices promise richer character dynamics as the story dives deeper into centuries-old grudges and twisted fates.
