Netflix Locks Gundam Hathaway Sequel for Global Stream Aug. 31

Netflix has locked a clear streaming window for the second chapter of the Hathaway film trilogy: Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe arrives on the platform globally on August 31. The move follows a fresh English-language trailer from Netflix Anime and continues the first film’s path to the service after its own theatrical run.
The sequel opened in Japan on January 30 and topped the local box office out of the gate, selling more than half a million tickets and taking roughly ¥849 million in its first three days before climbing past ¥2.3 billion. Bandai Namco Filmworks later brought Japanese- and English-language presentations to U.S. theaters in mid-May, keeping the film’s theatrical life active ahead of the streaming handoff.
Story-wise, the picture pushes deeper into Hathaway Noa’s war with the Earth Federation and his tangled ties to Gigi Andalucia, while Kenneth Sleg hardens the response against MAFTY. Core cast and staff largely return from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, with SZA’s “Snooze” on the opening and SennaRin contributing an insert track—another high-profile music flex for the Universal Century side of the franchise.
For viewers who already binged the first movie on Netflix, the August 31 date is a clean continuation: same platform, next chapter of the Tomino-sourced trilogy, no new subscription required. Expect the release to reignite debate over which modern Gundam film currently wears the crown.
