Naoki Urasawa Returns with 'The Final Manga Classroom' This August

Shogakukan's Big Comic Original Zōkan magazine revealed that Naoki Urasawa will debut his latest original manga, Saigo no Manga Kyōshitsu (The Final Manga Classroom), in the September issue hitting stands August 12.
The announcement carries a timely message: in an age when AI can handle nearly everything, what challenges remain worth pursuing? It stresses the irreplaceable value of things polished slowly by hand and the need to occasionally step back to appreciate that deliberate process.
Urasawa, the creator behind enduring classics such as Monster, 20th Century Boys, Pluto, and Billy Bat, continues his prolific output while also resuming Asadora!. His work has long blended intricate plotting with sharp social insight, earning adaptations across anime and live-action.
This new project arrives amid growing industry debate over generative tools and artistic authenticity. Readers can expect Urasawa to deliver a characteristically thoughtful exploration of what it truly means to create by hand.
