Amuse Creative Studio announced this week that Re:bel Robotica, the mixed-media science fiction project created by illustrator Mika Pikazo, is getting an original television anime adaptation. The series will unfold in the project's established 2050 setting, where advanced mixed reality has reshaped daily life in Tokyo's Shibuya district and enigmatic beings known as Robotica exist alongside humanity.

Pikazo, known for character designs on projects including Fire Emblem Engage and VTubers such as Hakos Baelz, provided a new teaser visual for the announcement showing the mysterious girl Lily reaching toward the viewer. The anime will tell an original story within the established world rather than a direct adaptation of the earlier novels or doujin work.

More details, including a teaser video, are scheduled to debut at Anime Expo in Los Angeles on July 4. The project has grown from a 2017 Comiket doujinshi into light novels and other media with collaborators including Ryō Yoshigami and Gakuto Mikumo, marking another high-profile example of illustrator-led concepts moving into full anime production.

The news underscores ongoing industry interest in distinctive original properties anchored by recognizable creative voices, with the upcoming convention panel expected to provide the first substantial look at the adaptation's direction and staff.
