Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun Locks Its 2027 Crew as Dual Teasers Drop

The official site for Megane, Tokidoki, Yankee-kun — Naruki's Bessatsu Friend romcom, also known in English as Glasses with a Chance of Delinquent — has finally put names on the production. Alongside a 2027 television window, the team posted two clashing teaser stills and a short promo that flips between them: one dripping with after-school closeness, the other lined with the manga's most intimidating regulars.

Makoto Hoshino (Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside) will direct, with Megumi Shimizu (Tomo-chan Is a Girl!) writing series composition and Ruriko Watanabe (The Four of Us Are Lying) on character design. Animation is a joint job for Studio Flad and WAO WORLD. Voice casting is still locked away; this drop is all about the crew.

The flutter key visual leans into Hiro Momose and Dan Ichikura pressed close — the girl who wants a quiet high-school life, and the honor-student lookalike who used to be a full-on delinquent. The yankee still pulls Igarashi, Sakyo, Yachiyo, and Yataro into frame and sells the official pitch that dating a reformed bad boy is anything but calm. Hoshino, in a brief note, joked that the title might as well be "heart-pounding yankee-kun," whether the pounding comes from first love or from genuine fear, and promised to keep the manga's mischievous tone intact.

Naruki has been running the series in Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend since January 2021; volume 11 landed on May 13. Seven Seas has the English edition, with volume 7 out July 14 and volume 8 due October 20. Until a cast list shows up, the dual teasers are the first real look at how this glasses-and-delinquent pairing will move.
