Made in Abyss Film Drops Third Trailer, New Cast & Mori Calliope Theme

The Abyss is calling again. Official channels for Made in Abyss: Mezameru Shinpi (Awakening Mystery) have dropped a third trailer packed with new footage, a pair of fresh voice credits, and a first listen at the film’s theme song ahead of its October 23 Japanese theatrical bow.

Stepping into the cast are Sumire Morohoshi as cave raider Tepasté and Takanori Hoshino as Black Whistle explorer Cravagli. The promo also previews “Chain of the Abyss,” a collaboration between longtime series composer Kevin Penkin and Hololive talent Mori Calliope—an unexpected but fitting blend of orchestral dread and rap-edged intensity.

Masayuki Kojima remains in the director’s chair at Kinema Citrus, with Hideyuki Kurata on the script and Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda handling character design. The feature continues Akihito Tsukushi’s adventure fantasy, sending Riko and company deeper into the mysteries that still define one of anime’s most unforgiving worlds.
