Jaadugar Casts Veteran Kujira as First Empress Boraqchin

Science SARU’s summer historical series Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia has rolled out its third main promotional video and a new special visual—and with them, a high-profile court addition. Veteran voice actress Kujira joins the cast as Boraqchin, First Empress to Ögedei, the second Great Khan of the Mongol Empire.
Long teased as a calm, composed power broker who prefers to pull strings offstage, Boraqchin is the kind of political player who thrives in the harem’s quiet wars. Kujira, a manga fan before she was cast, said she never expected to step into the role—especially after already following Tomato Soup’s source series, A Witch’s Life in Mongol.
The PV leans into the storm ahead: Sitara’s path colliding with royal consorts and the First Empress as palace intrigue thickens. Under chief director Naoko Yamada and director Abel Góngora, the show continues its weekly TV Asahi run (with a two-episode premiere on July 4) and streams on Crunchyroll as it airs.
