HIDIVE Locks Exclusive Rights to 'I'm Dating a Dark Summoner' Short Anime

HIDIVE just added a cheeky new title to its Fall 2026 lineup. The streamer announced an exclusive simulcast agreement for the short-form anime adaptation of Shaoh's manga I'm Dating a Dark Summoner, bringing the series to audiences in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand starting in October.
The story follows Amona, a demi-human dark summoner who can't quite resist her impulses, and Roni, the overly earnest priest whose adventuring party she joins. What everyone expects to be a clash of opposites quickly becomes something far more intimate after their very first day together, setting up a raucous fantasy rom-com full of bickering, desire, and chaotic party dynamics.
Produced as a compact short anime under WWWave's Deregula label with animation support at AtoriE, the series is directed and scripted by Seiya Miyajima, with character designs and chief animation direction by Takahiro Sasaki. Rei Takano voices the mischievous Amona, Yūki Nishiyama plays Roni, and Hōden Tei Senmai lends a voice to Imp.
The licensing win gives HIDIVE another distinctive entry in a season already packed with bigger names. Fans looking for something playful, steamy, and different from standard isekai fare will have a fresh option when the short episodes begin airing in Japan later this year.
