Goodbye, Lara Gets Same-Day English Dub with Star Voice Cast

Crunchyroll has rolled out a same-day English dub for the original anime Goodbye, Lara, letting viewers follow the story without waiting. The series from studio Kinema Citrus, created to mark the studio's 15th anniversary, reworks the classic mermaid tale with a modern Japanese twist.
Brianna Knickerbocker voices the lead role of Lara, the mermaid princess who awakens in Lake Biwa 200 years after her first tragic attempt at human love. Anairis Quiñones plays Mari, the high school boxer who takes the mysterious newcomer into her home. Tiana Camacho voices the sea witch Grace, with Tara Sands as Laura, Brook Chalmers as Rowan, Madeline Dorroh as Luna, and Kieran Regan as the Prince. Additional voices include Bill Milsap, Jonathon Ha, and John Patneaude. Gavin Harrison directed the dub at VSI Los Angeles.
The story follows Lara as she navigates life on land in Shiga Prefecture while racing against the clock to find genuine love or risk disappearing forever. Stunning water animation, heartfelt character moments, and a blend of whimsy and melancholy have already drawn praise since the July premiere on Tokyo MX and other networks.
With the English dub arriving alongside new episodes, the series offers both subbed and dubbed options for summer viewers seeking something magical and emotionally resonant.
