Ghost in the Shell Adds Puma Sisters as Episode 4 Cast Pair Drops

Section 9’s summer reboot just got a classic Shirow deep-cut. On Thursday, the official site for The Ghost in the Shell locked in an extra pair of voices tied to Episode 4 (“Robot Rondo”), which hit Japanese airwaves and streams on August 4.

Veteran Aya Hisakawa (Dragon Ball Daima) steps in as Annapuna, while Nina Kumagaya (Yowamushi Pedal) voices Unipuma—the infamous Puma Sisters, a playful crossover wink to Masamune Shirow’s Dominion Tank Police. Both actresses shared special comments alongside the reveal, underscoring how the series is threading franchise nostalgia into its new-canon timeline.

The TV anime launched July 7 on Kansai TV and Fuji TV affiliates, directed by Moko-chan at Science SARU with series composition by Toh EnJoe, character designs by Shuuhei Handa, and a score from Taisei Iwasaki, Ryo Konishi, and Yuki Kanesaka.
