Gabriel Dropout Manga Calls Time After a 12-Year Celestial Detour

After more than a dozen years of lazy angels, busybody demons, and high-school hijinks, Gabriel Dropout is heading for its final page. The September issue of Kadokawa’s Dengeki Daioh G revealed that creator Ukami’s gag manga will conclude in its next chapter—closing a run that began in December 2013.

The series follows Gabriel White Tenma, a top-of-her-class angel sent to Earth to guide humanity, only to fall hard for video games and a thoroughly unangelic lifestyle. What started as a bi-monthly strip settled into monthly serialization in 2014 and has since stretched across 16 compiled volumes, the most recent of which shipped in September 2025. Yen Press has kept English readers stocked throughout the long haul.

A 2017 TV anime adaptation helped cement the cast’s place in otaku memory, and the show still streams on Crunchyroll for anyone who wants one last rewatch before the manga bows out. Fans of Vignette, Satania, and Raphiel now have one more chapter left to say goodbye to Heaven’s most gloriously offline dropout.
