Fate Rewinder Debuts AX Teaser, Key Visual & Cast for April 2027 Premiere

The clock has finally started for Fate Rewinder. During Crunchyroll's Anime Expo 2026 showcase on July 3, the adaptation of Fuuta Kimura's hit CoroCoro Comic manga dropped its inaugural teaser promotional video, a fresh key visual, and the core Japanese voice cast — confirming an April 2027 premiere on TV Asahi's IMAnimation programming block.
The series follows Chrono, a young operative in a clandestine spacetime police unit known as the Rewinders. Armed with a prosthetic "Retry Eye" that lets him loop through doomed moments again and again, he takes on cases no one else can crack — all while chasing the truth behind his sister's death. It is a high-stakes, loop-driven action concept that has already earned the manga a Shogakukan Manga Award and a record-breaking year atop Monthly CoroCoro Comic reader polls.
Production pedigree is where the reveal really turns heads. Rie Matsumoto (Kekkai Sensen, Kyousou Giga) directs at Bones Film, with Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop) handling character designs, Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon) on scripts, and Satoshi Murai composing the score. Parent studio Bones is credited for production supervision, while STORY oversees the project — a lineup that signals serious theatrical ambition for a kids' magazine property.
The newly announced cast anchors the core Rewinder team: Shō Komura as Chrono, Kōki Uchiyama as veteran mentor Shirai, Kōhei Amasaki as katana-wielding Akaba, and Reina Ueda as combat android Lemon. The teaser footage leans into Matsumoto's kinetic framing and Kawamoto's sharp character silhouettes, hinting at a polished sci-fi action package rather than a straightforward magazine tie-in.
Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the series worldwide when it launches. With Yen Press already bringing the manga to English readers this fall, Fate Rewinder is positioning itself as one of the most closely watched Spring 2027 debuts — and Anime Expo just gave fans their first real look at what Bones has been building.
