Crunchyroll Secures Kagurabachi for April 2027 Worldwide Simulcast

The highly anticipated Kagurabachi anime has found its international streaming home. Crunchyroll revealed on June 26 that it will carry the TV series for viewers worldwide, barring Japan, mainland China, and the Koreas, when the show launches in April 2027.
The simulcast will drop in lockstep with the Japanese television broadcast, giving overseas audiences immediate access without the usual delays. Alongside the rights confirmation came a new casting reveal: Katsuyuki Konishi steps into the role of Togo Shiba, adding to the previously announced leads Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira and Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira.
Cypic handles production for the series, with Tetsuya Takeuchi directing and Keigo Sasaki handling character designs. The adaptation brings to life Takeru Hokazono's manga, which follows a young swordsmith's son who takes up his father's final enchanted blade to hunt down the sorcerers who tore his family apart.
Serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2023 and already spanning eleven volumes with English editions via VIZ Media, the property has built a passionate fanbase drawn to its intense sword action and dark themes. With the platform deal now in place, more details on the rollout and additional staff are expected as the premiere approaches.
