CloverWorks Unveils Main Trailer for Rascal Series Finale Film

Studio CloverWorks has lifted the veil on the main trailer for the upcoming Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend anime film, marking a major milestone as the popular franchise heads toward its definitive close.
Returning director Sōichi Masui is once again at the helm, joined by series composer and scriptwriter Masahiro Yokotani and character designer Satomi Tamura. The studio, which has helmed previous entries in the series, is reuniting its core creative team to adapt the final novel volume and resolve the lingering threads of "Adolescence Syndrome" surrounding Sakuta Azusagawa and his friends.
The trailer, which dropped today, spotlights the film's October 16 theatrical opening in Japan and previews the new insert song "Turn the World Upside Down" performed by Tōko Kirishima. Aniplex is handling distribution for the project.
The Rascal Does Not Dream light novels have surpassed three million copies in circulation, and earlier anime films in the franchise posted solid box office results. With this capstone film, CloverWorks aims to deliver the emotional payoff fans have been anticipating for the story that began with the original Bunny Girl Senpai adaptation.
