Bones Keeps Rolling: SK8 Season 2 Production Steady With Winter Tease

Four years after the sequel green light, Bones has finally cracked open the vault—just a little. On the franchise’s annual “∞ Day” livestream, director Hiroko Utsumi confirmed that SK8 the Infinity Season 2 is making steady progress at the studio, even if polished footage still isn’t ready for public drop.
What the team did share is pure winter energy. A new illustration puts Reki and Langa in cold-weather gear, while Utsumi teased that Season 2’s season is winter—“Winter SK8,” as she put it—leaving fans debating whether that means a snow-set story, a winter premiere, or both. Series composition lead Ichiro Okouchi and character designer Michinori Chiba remain in the saddle with Utsumi, keeping the original Bones DNA intact after the EXTRA PART OVA.
For a production that has lived in rumor limbo since the 2022 dual OVA-and-sequel announcement, this is the clearest studio status check yet: the boards are moving, the vibe is frozen solid, and the underground “S” races are about to meet the cold. Bones isn’t racing the calendar out loud—just promising more when the ice thaws.
