BokuYaba’s Final Lap: Dangers in My Heart Ends in Three Chapters

The long honeymoon for Kyotaro and Yamada is almost over on the page. Chapter 196 of The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) made it official: Norio Sakurai’s rom-com will wrap in three more chapters, locking the series into its previously teased fourteenth and final tankōbon.

Sakurai first dropped the story in March 2018 in Weekly Shōnen Champion before it settled on Akita Shoten’s Champion Cross web platform. What began as a dark-joke middle-school crush story evolved into one of the decade’s most warmly received coming-of-age romances, stacking more than seven million copies in print and carrying a devoted global readership through Seven Seas’ English editions.

The manga’s soft landing arrives with the franchise still in motion. Shin-Ei Animation’s two TV seasons (2023–2024) and the recent compilation film already put Ichikawa and Yamada on screens worldwide, and a third TV season is lined up for 2027—so the final chapters will likely fuel both volume 14 and that next adaptation wave.

For readers who’ve followed every “karte,” the clock is real now: three installments left to settle a love story that grew from murder-daydream gags into something sincerely tender. Stock tissues. The end is in sight.
