AnimagiC 2026 Wraps in Mannheim: 100% Magic, Sold Out & Star Power

Mannheim’s Rosengarten just finished a three-day takeover. AnimagiC 2026 (July 31–August 2), running under the banner “100% MAGIC,” packed the Congress Center for one of Europe’s densest anime, manga, and J-culture weekends. Local coverage put the expected crowd near 35,000; organizers said the event was sold out, with more than 100 exhibitors and fans traveling from across Europe—and a few from Japan—to fill the halls.

The guest list matched the scale. MAPPA president Manabu Otsuka and animation director Kaori Makita met fans on European soil; SHAFT CEO Mitsutoshi Kubota, Detective Conan voice legend Kappei Yamaguchi, Witch Hat Atelier director Ayumu Watanabe, and seiyuu such as Mayumi Tanaka and Rena Motomura rounded out a heavy industry presence. On the stages, Yuki Kajiura with FictionJunction, ASCA, MADKID, Ai Higuchi, and a Europe-first turn from SIREN starring IZUMI (SI-VIS) kept the Mozartsaal and Musensaal loud late into the nights.

Saturday’s fifth straight SACRA MUSIC FES. × AnimagiC was the musical peak. IZUMI opened with SI-VIS tracks and custom venue-set visuals; ASCA stacked anisongs through “RESISTER”; FictionJunction closed with Kajiura’s catalog—including a surprise ASCA guest spot on “Aoi Sora no Fanfare”—before a full-cast group photo for a packed house. Outside the main halls, cosplay flooded the Water Tower plaza, dealer rooms moved Japan-import figures, and the Animotion festival stacked premieres from PSYREN and The Vermillion Mask to Black Clover Season 2 and Sparks of Tomorrow.

Organizer Thomas Webler summed up the vibe as a temporary big family—tolerant, polite, and fully in character for the weekend. The official site has already posted its thank-you and locked AnimagiC 2027 for July 30–August 1, with tickets planned to open September 7. For European fans who still feel the post-con crash, the calendar is already counting down.
