One ordinary evening, Naoyuki's family gathers to watch a disaster preparedness anime DVD handed out at school. Despite Bousai Namazun's warnings about possible earthquakes in the Tokai, Tonankai, and Nankai regions, Naoyuki is doubtful and questions whether such events will truly occur. The next day, while their parents are away, a major earthquake strikes. The family plans to reach an evacuation center, but their path is blocked by overturned furniture and a warped living room door. Naoyuki's younger sister Sayaka begins to cry, worried about their mother coming back. Concern also grows for their father, who had gone to a factory by the sea. As they wait for rescue, the tension mounts.
