To mark a plentiful harvest, a bear happily makes pancakes. Soon, a swarm of mice starts pestering him, prompting a chase. Despite trying, the bear grows annoyed and gets outdone by the mice. Seeking help, the bear asks a tabby cat for aid. Yet, when the cat begins catching mice for the bear, the bear deems them too small and creates a new condition: only bigger, fatter mice can be swapped for top-grade fish, while tinier ones earn only low-quality fish. This enrages the cat. To obtain the desired large fish, the cat hatches a clever scheme: he feeds the bear’s own food to the mice to make them plump before handing them over to the bear. As a result, the bear gets the fat mice he wants, but loses his own precious supplies.
