During Japan's Tenpyoi period, the practice of consuming dairy products, along with Buddhism, was introduced from China and the Korean Peninsula. This animated film focuses on the friendship between Fukuji, a boy from a seaside village that raises imported cattle, and Yumihiko, a boy from a traditional farming community. After both settlements are raided by bandits, the two boys form a connection that fosters cooperation and the exchange of customs between their differing societies.
