Approximately 2,500 years in the past, the Jewish community existed under the authority of the vast Medo-Persian Empire. With permission from King Ahasuerus, numerous Jews lived freely, observing their religion in devotion to Jehovah. One such individual was Mordecai, a righteous Jew who worked at the palace gates and had brought up his orphaned relative, Esther, who was celebrated for her compassion and intelligence. In time, Esther became the queen of this vast empire. At the same time, the wicked Haman schemed against Mordecai, wrongly charging him with treason before the monarch. Enraged by these accusations, Ahasuerus commanded the destruction of all Jewish people. Confronting this disaster, Queen Esther courageously came forward, endangering her own life to beg for the safety of her nation.
