In "Only Yesterday," Taeko Okajima, a 27-year-old woman living independently in Tokyo, decides to leave behind the city's constant activity and travel to her relatives' countryside home to assist with the harvest. After arriving, she meets Toshio, a young farmer who quickly becomes a close companion.
