Adrift in the Pacific
Juugo Shounen Hyouryuuki
十五少年漂流記
Synopsis
Fifteen children set off on a sea voyage meant to bring them to their families near the coast of New Zealand. During the night, their boat loses its anchor and drifts into the open ocean without any adult crew aboard. By morning, a violent storm hits, leaving the children unable to steer back to safety. After several days, their vessel runs aground on a remote island in the Pacific. Over the following twenty months, the stranded group must come together and learn to fend for themselves. They work to stockpile enough provisions to survive the coming harsh winter. The children are led by Briant, Doniphan, and Gordon, and they find signs that a sailor lived and died on the island twenty years earlier.
