Synopsis
Shunichi Domoto is naturally gifted at many sports but never finds one that truly excites him. That changes when his friend, Beso Kimura, introduces him to competitive yo-yo play. Everything begins when Beso loses his yo-yo to the school bully, Benkei Musashimaru. Despite having never touched a yo-yo before, Shunichi steps in to get it back. After three days of intense practice, he surprisingly manages to defeat the moderately skilled Benkei. This early success leads Shunichi to believe that yo-yo tricks come easily and that he can master anything he sets his mind to. But his overconfidence is shattered by a crushing defeat at the hands of the exceptionally talented Seito Hojoin. The humiliating loss sparks a fierce determination in Shunichi to surpass Seito and claim victory at the National Yo-yo Championship in Japan.
